Gatehouses are usually very under developed in role-play games. Castles nearly always have some sort of functional control point, though even more neglected are town gatehouses. A good, purpose built control point can elevate town security substantially. Hence, when Queen Freydis rebuilt the ruined town walls, she brought in the dwarven smith Thumb Greavebeater to lend his knowledge of heavy stonework. Below is the design that the three gatehouses of Ton Marel were built with. If you print out the front elevation, you can use colored pencils to match the stonework to your town's regional look. I settled for the pale gray-white stone of the cold coast in Saerad and the traditional green tiles of the regions city roof-line. Enjoy!
