Crystal Moon (Pneuma, Spyrt or Skoglendi)
Much of what follows is speculation because it happened 'pre-life'.
This moon shattered and it is rumored to have produced the soul crystals that trap the souls. This needs research! Possibilities suggested are that the Crystal Moon, rumored to be named "Pneuma" by some sages; transferred soul to the world below in it's shattering. That gems within were also spread across the world and have been treasured for their beauty and magic. And that Pneuma was a deity of some sort? The chances are that the crystal moon was hit by a huge meteor or comet not native to the system originating from far out, even deep space. It might have even come through a portal and moved into Elusenol's gravitational grip. But Archonic sages suggest it was called "Skoglendi" and was the birthing place of Dogun and both the crystals that hold the pneuma and the soul-sparks that form life also originated from Skoglendi - as that was the birthing pool of life, and both crystal and spark plummeted to the world below. The name Skoglendi is certainly the great island situated on the crystal moon, the chances the Archonic sages refer to the moon by the name of the continent is highly likely. Some Huldra myths repeat the moons name as "Spyryt" ; the word for breath, a close meaning for Pneuma.
This is an unknown science for most -- wherever there is life, crystals harbor souls, so with the wide spread of crystals (and life) there's certainly a source common to all life bearing planets; meteors or comets. The possibility of a crystal comet fits in with the pan-spermia concept. Thinkers suggest that the theory allows two possibilities, that of the wandering souls being pre-trapped within them traveling, or that the crystals are empty when they fall to the planets surface, passing through the nebulous soul layer, attracting/trapping a soul before impact on the ground. Emergence is triggered, and original beings appear. That the crystals are intensely magnetic to the soul-sparks means that they even gravitate towards each other, over miles sometimes. Whether the pneuma came from Skoglendi and the Spark from Elusenol, it really doesn't matter as all places where life emerges (not all planets were birthing grounds) all have both components.
An even more incredible hypothesis is held amongst the sages – that all life bearing worlds are essentially like the image above, an orb of surface crystals charged with light they've collected over aeons. They overload and birth sparks from their tips, and these rise to float away as soul-sparks. The whole phenomenal world is a mere umvelt, created as an illusion to host the diffusion of light and energy. Before the explosion of the moon named Spyryt, the image above was most likely what it looked like. as the source of life, the question that echoes about the halls of the divine are, is this the great soul-mountain, where from all gods and mortal thinking beasts originate? If such a crystal was so ubiquitous, then wouldn't we know of it? An umvelt that was meant to mask the crystals, or indeed anything outside the survival plan of the life forms it was meant to host would keep everything it considered meta hidden. Or if these crystals were even findable, they would form a vast strata on or under the surface of the planet, perhaps hidden in the table? Such a layer does exist on the world, known as olivine, which forms a large part of the world of Elusenol's mantle.
